We all know and love Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, or as we know her, Doja Cat. She began making and releasing music on SoundCloud as a teenager. We all may think we know her, but do we REALLY know her? This isn’t a hate article. And it’s NOT made for you to not wanna listen to her. Early 2014 she signed to RCA Records with a joint-venture deal with Dr. Luke’s vanity label Kemosabe Records. Doja Cat hasn’t publicly commented on her relationship with Dr. Luke but has liked tweets theorizing that she didn’t know and wouldn’t have signed with him had she known of his abusive nature. Doja Cat went viral with her song“Mooo!” a pixelated home music video. We can tell she was so happy in that song, but we all know happiness is fleeting.

November 7, 2019: Doja Cat’s second studio album, Hot Pink, comes out to good reviews and even better streams. February 27, 2020: Doja drops the video for her TikTok hit, “Say So,” featuring a cameo from the TikTok dance creator herself, Haley Sharpe. All’s well … for now. It started to become rumored that Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj had beef, so Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj dropped a remix to “Say So,” squashing any potential beef between the two of them and their stans. I know I left off some facts, but all will be covered in Chapter 2. Stay tuned for Chapter 2! See you soon!
