NASA: National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA is an independent U.S. agency. NASA was established in 1958. The federal government is the one responsible for the civilian space program (a scientific research program that majors in physical science, life sciences, advancement in space flight technology, etc.) Dwight D. Eisenhower founded NASA. Eisenhower served as president from 1953-1961. He was an army general during World War II.  NASA’s slogan is “At NASA, we make Air and Space available for everyone.”
