D&D

The game D & D (Dungeons and Dragons) was first invented in Lake Geneva in a basement around 1972. What is the main idea of the game? Well, that ultimately depends upon the campaign being run (campaign is the term for the game being played). Some campaigns have dark tones, while others have lighter tones. Some are meticulously planned heists that last about 10 sessions. Some take years and reach level 20 as a grand adventure unfolds rivaling even Tolkein’s greatest creations. Some are only designed for one session. There is one thing that stands out through all of them. The main point of the game is to get together with friends, or even strangers, to get into a character, interact with others, have fun, go on crazy and wild adventures, and most importantly, to grow as a person. It may just be a game, but it does change people, typically for the better. D & D is a tabletop role-playing game. Whether it be Prince Yurg Dulthrum, the only survivor of the Dwarven kingdoms royal family, or Stenghis Valterin, the farm boy, chosen by St. Cuthbert to be his vessel granting him extraordinary powers that could change the world and him. You could even choose simpler characters, like Clint McGruff the halfling gunslinger bartender. Some groups even use pre-made characters on a card, but most people create the characters from the ground up. The journey is yours!
